Ephesians 5:19-20...Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the LORD, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ...
I asked Principal Mary what our students needed to hear and she said...RESPONSIBILITY...
Today we're going to learn that we are responsible to God and one another...
One of the greatest composers who ever lived, Johann Sebastian Bach, always wrote the letters S.D.G. at the bottom of his music. Soli Deo Gloria..."To God alone be the glory." Bach realized that his music was a gift from God and that he had a responsiblity to use his gift to the glory of God...
What is your gift? Learning, School is a gift...Mabye you should start writing S.D.G. at the bottom of your school work...
Romans...12:6-8...We have a different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully...
Have you ever had someone call you a "silly goose!" Geese are not silly! Recent scientific studies have given us the answer to why they fly in a "V" formation. It has been learned that as each goose flaps its wings, it gives a lift to the one immediately following. It has beeen determined that flying this way gives the geese about 70% more flying range. Of course, that means that the lead goose is working harder. When the lead goose gets tired, he falls back into the formation and another take his place. Now, that's SMART! And the honking? That's to ENCOURAGE one another...
So remember Bach and S.D.G. and remember the goose and HONK...for we are RESPONSIBLE to God and one another!
