Heart Problems

Larry Risher asked me to put this on my blog:
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be in order.
Without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint,
Has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each Cough, and the cough must be deep
And prolonged, as when producing sputum From deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated About every two seconds without let up
Until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and
Keep the blood circulating.
The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives!

Most of you already know, our beloved Lorin Short (Associate Pastor) suffered a heart attack this week...
The angiogram revealed no major blockages or troubles with the stints (he suffered a major heart attack about 5 yrs. ago) but there is an "electrical" issue that they will be trying to correct with medication...
He has been in the hospital since Wednesday and it looks like he gets to come home today!
I want to ask our church to recognize how much we lean on this amazing couple! It is time that they receive from us, instead of give, after their many years of ministry!
Pastor Lorin and Jan are so generous, never saying no...But, recent events prove they need more rest and we must allow them to "step back" from all the expectations...
Let's all pray for wisdom and healing, looking for ways to bless our Shorts!

Lord Jesus give your servant Lorin health and vigor to take many more days to preach your word.
