I just received this AMAZING email from our Pregnancy Care Center in Grants Pass...

Everyone Said She Should Abort ~ They Were Wrong

"You should abort" - these are the words Melissa heard from her doctor. "Your
baby has Spina Bifida and is Hydrocephalic; the baby will probably be a burden
to you all your life." When Melissa arrived at our office, she was in tears
but she was also very determined to love and raise the son she was pregnant
with. Not just her doctor, but many others around her were all telling her she should abort her child. We did not agree and we chose to support her and the precious life she was carrying. She told us it didn't matter what his needs were that she was committed to raise this child God had given her to the best of her ability. This brave young mom is an inspiration to us and it's because of your prayers and financial support, when no one else was, we were able to be there, to help her and her unborn baby.

We provided her with encouragement, emotional and material support and most of all prayers of faith that this baby was meant to be...our God knows what He is doing!

As the months passed and the pregnancy continued, Melissa grew into an even
stronger advocate for her baby. Melissa was doing research on every aspect of
care for her baby boy as he continued to grow in her. In December 2008,
Austin was born in a Portland hospital. The doctor immediately fixed his Spina
Bifida, and installed a shunt for his hydrocephalic condition. Little Austin will
probably function very close to 'normal' according to the doctors who
continue to examine him.
Thanks to his mommy's love and devotion while joining us in prayer and support for her baby, we PRAISE GOD for little Austin and Melissa. And we PRAISE
GOD for you, those who pray, donate and stand with us to empower women to choose LIFE in our community.
